Hi,
Today I was using my laptop. One minute it was fine and the next minute it had a pink tint on the screen. I restarted it but it's still there. I'm concerned that my monitor may be damaged, since I dropped the laptop a few days ago. But I'm checking here to see if it's another problem that can be solved. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jace,
A pink tint on your laptop screen could be a hardware problem, especially if your computer has been dropped recently. It could potentially be a software issue as well. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
If these steps don't resolve the issue, it’s likely that there is a hardware problem, and you should seek professional assistance.
I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have further questions!
Thanks. I don't use night light feature but have urned it on and off a few times to see if it makes any difference... nope.
This problem started in August after update 40442. I got rid of 40442 a few times and the pink went back to the soft grey but the update kept reloading itself even after I turned off auto updates, and now I can't get rid of 40442 it won't let me.
I'd like to see Microsoft just fix this it's a waste of my time dealing with it. And, I hate pink... We should get to choose all of our colors and where they should be it worked fine before Windows 11...
I had this problem reported on a Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620, where typically grey areas were showing as pink and slightly off coloured whites on the laptop screen. If an external monitor was connected then then the colours returned to normal on both screens. Unplugging the external monitor and the laptop display returned to grey as pink and off colour whites.
This was found to be due to "Automatically manage color for Apps" being enabled on that laptop...
The SOLUTION: in this case-
System > Display > Advanced display > Automatically manage color for Apps (Toggle to Off)
Prior to finding that solution, as well as changing various settings and a reinstall of the display adapter drivers:-
NVidia 25/06/2024 - 32.0.15.5612
Intel 18/01/24 - 31.0.101.5186
The problem was still prevalent, but it did disappear temporarily after a repair with remove existing settings and no restart of the Intel Display Adapter Driver, but it then reappeared after manual restart or connecting and disconnecting an external monitor.
So the permanent solution in this case:
System > Display > Advanced display > Automatically manage color for Apps (Toggle to Off)
My screen suddenly had a annoying pink tint after I clicked on a popup without reading what it was.
The fix was easy -
Right mouse on desktop
Display settings
In the RIGHT panel under Display
Turn off the nightlight
Even if it is off - go into Nightlight settings and make sure the slider is set to the left
(try sliding it while you are there so you can see what it does)
