Hello all. I just got this new laptop and I'm trying to download things, but for some reason I can't get out of S mode. I've tried everything that people have suggested, and it still keeps saying that there's an error and I can't switch out of S mode. I've also tried to go to the Advanced Apps Settings to allow downloads from anywhere, but there is no section in my Advanced Apps Settings to where I can change where to download from. I've been struggling with this for the past 3 hours and would really like some help

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Many people are reporting a problem trying to switch out of S Mode for the last week, it seems to be a server side issue.

Some people have reported these steps may work to switch out of S Mode.

Open the Settings App, then go to System - Recovery.

Click the 'Reinstall Now' button in the 'Fix problems using Windows Update' section.

When that process completes, try switching out of S Mode.

    Hiya Dave!

I just saw your reply and it actually helped me very much, I fortunately did these steps and messed around enough that i was able to get it work before i saw your reply. This did work for me though so If anyone is having the same issue and sees this, Do it. It really does work. it might take 2 hours, but it does work!

    Hello.

"Reading" Windows S mode laptop . Locked into S mode. On Windows S wanting to go to Windows Home.Ok, I understand. To switch out of S mode all you need to do is open the ms store properly. Open Settings > Activation > Go to the Store [to switch to Windows 10/11 Home ] If "try again /error" keeps poping up I think that service may be offline. But 90% of the time it is up and running.

Do not need Windows S do not need Windows Pro. Feel free to write this down pen+ paper.

    Possable fixes

    • Win+R wsreset.exe -i
    • A system reset, but a system reset would be mostly for a older computer that went into an error.

Honestly if you still have the PC box and recepit I think I would be returning/extange it for a normal Windows 11 Home laptop. >>

My personal minimum PC specs suggestions :

    16GB ram

500GB to 1TB nvme or ssd harddrive

    i7 CPU intel

    Optional GPU 8Gb Nvidia

    My Laptop is pawsome....
