My wired ps4 controller used to work on my pc and now, out of nowhere, it just doesn't. How do I fix this?

I've been using this controller on this pc for almost a year and a couple of days ago it just stopped working. I plug it in and the light comes on, my pc detects it, and it even shows up in steam but none of the inputs register. I heard about Ds4windows and gave that a try but still nothing. It isn't just the one controller either. None of my controllers register anymore. Tried updating the usb drivers. All up to date. tried different micro usb cables. Nothing. Please help...I miss playing Rocket League.

    Hello, Muse005.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thank you for sharing your issue and I can understand how you are currently feeling.

I understand that you are currently using the PS4 controller connected to your PC (Windows 10) and recently you have noticed that it is not working, even though your system is able to detect it.

I was hoping to look up Sony and PlayStation technical support information to provide you with some solutions.

Unfortunately, after checking for you, I could not find any instructions for connecting the PS Series Controller to a Windows system, as the controller was designed to be used on a console or gaming device.

Folkloric methods use the software in Steam and other tools for this purpose, but as Microsoft Support, we don't know much about this and we can't provide you with any solid advice on how to do this, so we hope you understand. You can try consulting with support for the Steam app, or gathering more information to see what else you can do.

Alternatively, you can try connecting the controller to another device to see if there is a hardware failure.

This is the information that I, as Microsoft Support, have been able to provide you with regarding this issue.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best Regards.
