When ever I'm playing more demanding games my gpu usage randomly spiked to 80% and more and i get like 40 fps after like 2 minutes usage drops to like 40 and I get normal fps depending on what game it is but usually about 100. I have a RTX 3060 laptop gpu. (I have the latest driver installed) This usage spike cycles about every 3 minutes after it stops. Gpu is not overheating as well every time it happened the temperature wasn't above 70 °C.

Hi over there : According with online reports

This Gpu spike happens, mostly to users

    who playing games and videos

is it normal for a GPU clock to spike,.?

It's ok, that's normal. You don't need to lower, the monitor's hertz..

That's because the GPU usage base. it can go up in a peak and

come back depends on the use. Like watching games or video.

But if you want to apply, some fixes : To minimize this GPU spikes

Adjust your power settings to. High Performance mode : in Windows

Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional Power Settings.

This will ensure that your CPU and GPU : Are not throttled by power

saving features. Try lowering the resolution or graphics settings

of your games to reduce the load on your GPU and CPU.
