Thanks for the update! I wish you didn’t go through that, but I’m here to help you now:

If the solutions above haven't worked, you can try reinstalling Chrome. This will completely remove the existing installation and download a fresh copy. Make sure to back up your bookmarks and passwords before doing this.

Note: Sometimes malware can mess with browser settings. Run a scan with your antivirus software to rule out this possibility.

    Hi Killeroxx,

My name is Umar. I'm an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to you. It seems like your Google Chrome settings might have been changed or corrupted, which is affecting your new tab functionality and search engine preferences. Here are several steps you can take to resolve this issue:

A simple Restart may sometimes resolve the issue.

Check if your preferred search engine (Bing in this case) is still set as the default for those two Chrome accounts.

Go to Settings > Search Engine in Chrome.

Make sure Bing is selected as the default search engine. There might be a separate setting for "Search engine used in the address bar" and "Search engine used on new tabs." Ensure Bing is set for both.

Try temporarily disabling all extensions and see if the issue persists. You can do this by going to Settings > Extensions and toggling the switch for each extension off.

Resetting Chrome settings will remove any customizations you've made, but it can also resolve glitches causing unexpected behavior.

As a last resort, if none of the above solutions work, consider creating a new Chrome profile for the affected accounts. This ensures a clean configuration without any potential profile-specific issues.

    Create a new Chrome profile:

    Salfi Umar
