Hello, this is Emily.
A decrease of 1000mWh is actually not uncommon over 3-month period, especially not know what settings you have and usage/charging habit you have.
Try calibrate the battery to see if that might help in case it is a calibration issue. To do so, you basically would allow your laptop's battery to drain completely until it shuts down, then charge it to 100% without interuption.
Other things you can try is to reinstall the battery driver in Device Manager > Battery, and make sure your computer's BIOS (firmware) is up to date.
Not sure where you are in the world, extreme temperatures can affect the battery capacity reading too, such as extreme heat or code, etc.
But otherwise, I honestly don't think it is any red flag losing 1000mwh over 3 months. To help prolong your battery life, consider the following:
- Avoid exposing your laptop to extreme temperatures, as this can damage the battery. Make sure ventilation is good on the computer.
- Use your laptop on battery power regularly, as this can help keep the battery active and prevent it from losing capacity. Avoid leaving your laptop plugged in all the time, as this can also damage the battery.
- Use smart charging if available: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use...
