Hi,

I'd like to setup FortiGate from marketplace: https://azuremarketplace.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps/fortinet.fortinet-fortigate?tab=Overview using pay-as-you-go pricing.

What happens if the VM is stopped? Do we still pay the license fee?

Best Regards,
Mateusz

You might need to check with Fortigate but I'm quite sure this works the same way as Windows Server or SQL Server pay per usage pricing - so you only pay the licensing cost when the VM is allocated and running - this is billed on a per second basis.

Fortigate VM licenses are perpetual, and you do not have to pay extra, but If you use features like Enterprise Protection then you will have to pay annually for enterprise license fees.
