Windows 11 driver for Dell C1765NFW printer

Hello

I have just upgraded to Windows 11 but whilst it can find my printer Dell C1765NFW it says 'no driver'.

Is there any possibility of a compatible driver? Dell seemed to stop making printers a decade ago, and Windows 10 is as modern as their website goes up to.

I'd be grateful for any assistance as I love my old printer!

    Hello William, this is Emily.

Indeed, this printer doesn't have a Windows 11 driver.

Unfortunately, driver is from the hardware manufacturer, not from Windows. Windows can only use what is available.

While there's no guarantee, sometimes an old driver, even not for Windows 11, might still work to get Windows to recognize the printer and do only basic features. It doesn't hurt to try the latest Windows 10 driver Dell has to offer anyway.

Just know that it is not a guarantee. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers...

    I have the same printer.

The Windows 10 64 driver and software suite from Dell works successfully in Windows 11

The Toolbox Address Book Editor to setup scanning does not work even if firewall is disabled temporarily.

This is not essential as scanning can be setup using the IP address of the printer.

I like my 1765nfw as cheap generic toner is available and it does all I need, prints, scans, copies using wired or wireless connections.

If you need any help let me know

Thanks for your reply Horace. The printer is old old (at least twelve years) and as Dell no longer manufacture printers, but Microsoft still makes Windows, I thought I'd try here first. And Emily came up trumps, telling me to try the most up to date driver for Windows 10, which worked.

    Hello Emily

Thank you so much for your reply. I must admit it didn't cross my mind to try a seven year old driver, but it worked!

I have toner left for over two thousand sheets and it's good to know I can use them and not have to throw the printer away.

    Thanks again.
