Hi I was wondering if I can upgrade from windows 10 home version to windows 11pro for free or do I need to purchase a new license. Windows 11 installed when I purchased Parallels 11 and it seems the cost for the pro windows version is super expensive. Am I eligible for an upgrade for free.

Thank you for that. I don’t know if it is US dollars or not. That is expensive for me as a kiwi.
I am not happy that there is no other option, as are many others, feeling we have been blindsided to accept this outcome. I really don’t understand why there is no update to Windows 10pro and the only alternative is to pay again for the door to open the software!

The only place I see to get the upgrade licence is by clicking 'Go to the Store' on the activation page in the Settings app.

I cannot find the upgrade from windows 10 home to windows 10 pro anywhere on the net.!
Also if I have to go to the $199 cost is this in New Zealand dollars of something else?

Hi Dave and thank you for your email regarding my query
I wanted to say that I do not have windows 10 installed on my Mac as I knew it would not work with Parallels 19 software, this only uses windows 11arm.
I guess this is why the activation window does not recognize my license which is very old, hence my dilemna.
I took your advice and went to the store however, the only option here was to purchase a new license at $199. I did not register my old windows 10 home edition as it was part of Parallels.
Why am I not able to register this version via Microsoft so I can then purchase an upgrade and be able to activate windows 11. Am I able to purchase the upgrade through your website, a website, though I must say I could not find this option! I can issue you with photographic proof of my software and product key if that helps.
I await your assistance with this.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.
It is free to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, but to upgrade from the Home to Pro version is not free, you would need to purchase a Pro licence, the cheapest method to get a genuine Pro licence is to purchase the half price Pro upgrade licence by clicking 'Go to the Store' on the activation page in the Settings app.
