why wont my hdmi cable work to connect my pc to my tv

its a pretty straight forward question

    my HDMI is plugged in ad was working fine and then my tv stated glitching and then said no signal detected and when i unplugged it, restarted my pc and then plugged back in again and still saying no signal detected.

    How do i resolve this because it was working fine before and no will not work at all.

    Please let me know if you have tried the methods below.

    First, make sure the cable is plugged in securely to both your PC and TV. Then, check that your TV is set to the right input for the HDMI port you're using. If that doesn't work, try restarting both devices and see if that fixes the issue.

    Ihave tried that several times with no success! I disconnected the computer too install a new desk and it has not worked since.

    still not working. All I get on the TV monitor is the homepage of the computer. I have tried the cable on another TV and there is no problem. The TV monitor I want to use is one I have been using for some years with no problems. Is there anything else I can do. By the way the TV monitor is okay with foxtel and free to air TV.
