I uninstalled the HP software and restarted.
Scanner still isn't recognized. Printer works though. I have all the latest Microsoft updates installed.
Is there a config file specific to the scanner that I can update to possibly recognize the scanner?

Does anyone know how I set up the HP Officejet Pro 8600 to scan documents using Windows 11?
I installed drivers from the HP website. No dice. The printer/scanner has the latest firmware.
I have the Scan app from the Windows store. It says: "To get started, connect a scanner." The device is on and connected. I can print just fine.
I tried to find a manage option in the printer and scanners config area that let me enable the scanner but don't see an option.
Moreover, Microsoft documentation all seems specific to Windows 10 but I use Windows 11. That, and MS help documentation that gives an option keeps reverting back to Windows 10 as if I didn't specify Windows 11 and Microsoft can't use meta data from the browser to know my operating system.
I run Windows 11 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 9.
This is absolutely frustrating. I was able to use a 15 year old Mac laptop to scan the same documents using Preview without problems. But my much newer Windows computer lamely prints only.

Will you uninstall all HP applications if you use USB or Wifi connection?
