    Hi desiree white,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on the original description, the device seems to be experiencing issues related to the NVIDIA driver.

Generally, when using the Scan for hardware changes option or rebooting the device (without completely removing the driver's package), the system will try to retrieve an available backup from the Package and reinstall the driver automatically.

If possible, would you mind sharing more information about this issue with us?

    • By "does not register" do you mean that it is impossible to reinstall the driver by restarting the computer or using Device Manager?
    • An accessible Windows desktop environment is a prerequisite for troubleshooting. Does your device currently have access to the regular Windows desktop environment or a safe mode with only limited services enabled? Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support
