Hi,

I posted the same question May 13th but have been so busy I hadn't seen there were responses and was told to meake another thread (thanks anyways Sheng.G). Here's what I said last post:

"hi,

i've seen another question similar to mine but nothing i've tried works! i have jbl wave100tws headphones and they have connected and played audio just fine up until the last couple of days. they connect perfectly fine to other devices, just this laptop :(

my headphones do connect via bluetooth but just say connected, when usually they would say connected, audio.

when i try to troubleshoot through all sound devices most times the headphones dont even come up as an output or input, and when they do i click on them and theres a popup that says "allow apps and windows to use this device for audio" then when i try to click allow NOTHING happens!! have tried clicking it many many times to no avail !!

here's what i've tried so far that hasn't worked:

  • disconnecting then reconnecting the headphones
  • forgetting the headphones then repairing
  • turning the heaphones on and off then connecting them
  • restarting my laptop then connecting to the headphones
  • going into sound > all sound devices > then my headphones and pressing allow
  • choosing it as my output device under system > sound
  • trying to pair it as my output device under system > sound
  • going into more sound settings (the headphones dont show up most of the time)
  • when the headphones do show up in more sound settings nothing i look through gives me any information i need to fix them !!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASEEEEE PLEASE PLEASE help me!! im a student just trying to get through exams i can't do this without my music 😢😢😢"

Sheg.G responded and asked for screenshots of a couple things and I have them here!! Please help if you can I'm through exams now and will be much more active :(

Thank you for your help!!!

Don't worry, went through the same pain, and Microsoft Support people are not smart enough to do get a proper IT job and have worse skills than your great grand mother who has never even seen an electronic device.

9/10 times its cause Teams is coded so badly that it tries to go to headset rather then stay on your default sound option

You can disable this in your System-Sound-Devices

    Alternatively disable it

    "

Bluetooth headphones often have two modes: stereo (high-quality audio) and hands-free (low-quality audio with mic). Disabling the hands-free mode can prevent the system from switching modes.

    1. Open Control Panel and go to "Devices and Printers."
    2. Right-click your Bluetooth headphones and select "Properties."
    3. Go to the "Services" tab and uncheck "Handsfree Telephony."
    4. Click "Apply" and "OK."

    "

If you struggling to find it the above (Due to Microsoft making it harder and harder to get to the actually settings)

Control Panel -> Devices and Printers -> Devices - > More devices and printer settings (Scroll down) -> Continue from point 2 above

    Hi tilli ross,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

In your description, you have connected your headset via Bluetooth. And you were guided by your previous support person to find more sound settings and device manager.

First of all, this could be a driver issue, both the Bluetooth driver and the driver for the headset itself, or it could be a compatibility issue with this headset itself.

    Bluetooth Driver:

In your device manager, we can see the following two items

Please right-click them and choose Uninstall, then restart your computer, the system will automatically load the corresponding driver, and then check if you can connect to your headset.

If after rebooting again, it also can't connect to your headset, then this may be the driver problem of the headset itself, please find this driver in the picture below.

You can try to view and manually select other available drivers.

1Right click on the device driver in the box and select “Update Driver”.

2Then select Browse my computer for drivers

3Then select Let me choose from a list of available drivers on my computer.

4Check to see if there are any other options available, use them and see if they are available to get your headset working.

If there are no other options available, or if using other drivers still doesn't allow you to use the headset, then you will need to use the link below to find a support person on the JBL website who can provide you with the drivers for your headset and provide you with more targeted assistance.

    JBL Customer Experience Center

Please scroll down to the bottom and contact JBL's support staff on the form that is convenient for you.

I hope the above helps, if you have any other questions please continue to contact me, thank you for your support and understanding.
