Minecraft Launcher Does Not Open

I have recently installed Minecraft's new launcher.

The problem is, I cannot even open it (As both a normal user and an administrator). It won't open AT ALL. The computer does nothing.

I have tried everything.

  1. Reset/Repair Launcher, Microsoft Store, Xbox
  2. Looked for any corrupted files using %appdata% (problem is there is no file for .minecraft)
  3. Reset computer
  4. Redownloaded multiple times on Microsoft Store, Xbox and Minecraft.net
  5. Used the correct Microsoft account that owns the item.
  6. Scanned for malware (there is none)

The legacy launcher works but it doesn't allow me to use Bedrock. Incredibly inconvenient. How does Mojang plan to get money when their launcher doesn't even work?

Does anyone have a solution? If so, please kindly let me know.

    Hello

My name is Michael Carroll, and I am a Microsoft Independent Advisor.

Some possible solutions to your Minecraft Launcher Not Opening are:

    • Check if your antivirus or firewall is blocking the new launcher or preventing it from accessing the Internet. You may need to whitelist the launcher or temporarily disable the antivirus/firewall.
    • Make sure you have the latest version of Java installed and updated.
    • Try running the new launcher as an administrator. Right-click on the launcher icon and select "Run as administrator".
    • Try changing the installation directory of the new launcher. You can do this by clicking on the settings icon in the launcher and selecting "Installations". Then click on the three dots next to the default installation and select "Edit". Change the game directory to a different folder, such as C:\Minecraft\Bedrock or D:\Minecraft\Bedrock.
    • Try deleting the launcher_profiles.json file from the %appdata%.minecraft folder. This file stores your launcher settings and may be corrupted or incompatible with the new launcher. Deleting it will reset your launcher settings and force it to create a new file. Note that this will also delete any custom profiles or installations you have created in the launcher.
    • If none of these solutions work, Can you send your launcher log files, which you can find in the %appdata%.minecraft folder. The files are named launcher_log.txt and native.log.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue.

    Hello.

    Thank you for the advice.

Unfortunately, I have tried all your suggestions prior to posting.

I was just able to solve the issue but it required wiping the computer.

I believe it was due to missing program files.

    Thank you.
