I have upgraded my laptop PC to Windows 11, after being prompted by Microsoft. Alas Canon decided to discontinue support for its MP250 printer-scanner and thus did not produce Windows 11 drivers. The Windows 10 printer driver works fine but the scanner driver seems not to be working. Anyone has any experience of this and maybe found a way to circumvent the problem with a generic scanner driver?

Hello!
I had the same problem, but I found a solution:
Done! After this, the printer and scanner will work.
I have followed your procedure
scanning works, now if I print something, mp250 is in the list of printers but then
an error message appears saying it is undetectable although the item is in the queue.

Use a 3rd Party scanner software like NAPS2

If not, repeat steps 1 2 3 to uninstall and try downloading the Windows 10 printer driver and see if it works for your scanner
