Lenovo Laptop Screen Extremely Dim

Anonymous

When I switched my laptop on, the screen didn't show up, so I reset it and now the screen is extremely dim and barely readable. I reset it countless times, left it to charge, I've done all the keyboard commands (like Ctrl+alt+delete & Win+P, etc.) and nothings working.

Please help me out as soon as possible, thank you.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

Try pressing Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to restart the graphics card

    2

if that does not work, try booting Windows into Safe Mode, is the screen correctly lit in Safe Mode?

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

    Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt... etc.

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Settings and click Restart

Upon restart, press 5 to enter Safe Mode

Yeah, I went a local place that fixed the screen, it turned out to be a bulb/connection coming loose behind my laptop screen. It was a bit of wear and tear as I've had my laptop for quite a few years.

When it starts does it show the Lenovo logo, can you see that as you would expect. Could be a hardware fault.

If the Lenovo logo is also faint then that would suggest hardware, windows hasn't loaded at that point.

Are you sure there aren't F keys to adjust the brightness. (F5 down and F6 brightness up)
