WiFi doesn't have a valid IP configuration

Up until this afternoon I have had no issues with the internet on my PC.

Now whenever starting my PC it refuses to connect to the internet with the troubleshooting error "Wi-Fi" doesn't have a valid IP configuration.

The internet will work if I reset my router, at which point the PC will connect but the connection will be slower than usual. Ideally, I'd like to not reset my router every time I turn on my PC.

I've tried all kinds of solutions;

  • Ipconfig /release
  • netsh winsock reset
  • uninstalling and reinstalling drivers
  • full network reset

However, none of these have been successful and the problem still persists. I have made no changes to the device since it last worked normally and by all accounts the system doesn't detect any issues with the hardware or drivers.

Was wondering if there were any additional solutions I could try.

Thanks

Restart your device. Rebooting the router doesn't work, turn your Windows

device off and on again completely. This should allow the Wi-Fi adapter

to sync back up with the router, reestablishing and

    sharing accurate IP address information.

Method 1 : Release and renew IP address for your computer:

    a. Press Windows key + X and select “command prompt (admin)”.
    b. Type ipconfig /releaseand hit Enter.
    c. Then type ipconfig /renewand hit Enter.
    d. Type Exit and hit Enter.

You went through those commands. Did you tried the commands

**ipconfig /renew** and **ipconfig /flushdns :** if Not give it a shot

    this is weird

I had the same problem today --- I tried most of the suggestions noted then I tried one last option --

connect the laptop to the router via a ethernet cable and that seemed to fix the issue

I fought with this "Wi-Fi doesn't have a valid IP configuration" for many hours. I got a new router and the security mode was set to WPA3-Personal. I changed it to WPA2 and problem solved. Hope this helps.
