Hi, i just found my old 2gb microsd card and plugged it into my computer. Some files (jpg, mp3) on it were corrupted and only some part of it could be viewed and play(mp3 got weird glitch sound), i decided to run chkdsk e: /f /v to fix it and got this message:

The type of the file system is FAT32.

Shadow copying the specified volume is not supported.

Insufficient memory.

An unspecified error occurred (666174766f6c2e63 df).

What should i do next? Any suggestions or answers are welcome.(sorry for i use google translate)

Hi, Tuấn Nguyễn Văn Thanh

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are experiencing an error when scanning your SD card using chkdsk.

We have noticed that some of the files on your SD card are corrupted and if you receive an error related to “Volume Shadow Copy to the specified volume is not supported” while using the chkdsk command, it means that there is a physical corruption on the SD card and therefore the scanning command is not executing properly. The “Insufficient memory Unknown error (666174766f6c2e63 df)” error confirms this.

If the data on that SD card is of vital importance to you, it is recommended that you can consult a third-party data recovery company to repair the data on your corrupted SD card.

We hope your issue is handled properly and wish you all the best!

Best Regards

    Thanks Nicholas.Z for replying

I appreciate your response and sure enough my card was corrupted when I got the response. I backed up my data and am looking into fixing it, the repair software seems to have helped recover some files (just some pictures from when I was a kid btw)

It seems like physical damage can't be easily repaired and a new card is on the way

    Have a great day🫡
