Hi, How are you? I am Alan, Microsoft Expert, an Independent Advisor. I will be happy to assist you today. I appreciate your contact!

Let's solve the problem of thumbnails with black background in Windows.

Solution for Black Background Behind Thumbnails (Folders, Icons, Images, Etc.)

    1.Clear Thumbnail Cache:

    Open File Explorer.

    Go to C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer.

Delete all files starting with "thumbcache".

Restart File Explorer or your computer.

    2.Restart File Explorer:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

Find "Windows Explorer" in the list of processes, right-click it, and select "Restart".

    3.Check Performance Settings:

Go to Settings > System > About > Advanced system settings.

Under the "Advanced" tab, click "Settings" under Performance.

Ensure "Adjust for best appearance" is selected, or customize to enable "Show thumbnails instead of icons".

    4.Repair System Files:

    Open Command Prompt as administrator.

Run the following command to check and repair system files: sfc /scannow

    After completion, restart your computer.

    5.Update Graphics Drivers:

    Go to Device Manager.

Expand "Display adapters", right-click your graphics adapter, and select "Update driver".

Follow the instructions to search for updates automatically.

    6.Disable Third-Party Programs:

Temporarily disable any desktop customization software or programs that might interfere with the display of icons and thumbnails.

    Check if the issue persists.

    7.Check for Windows Updates:

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Check for any pending updates and install all available updates.

These steps should help resolve the issue of black backgrounds behind thumbnails in Windows. I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

    Best,

    Alan

Manage Window Appears without any problem. but "This PC" Freeze. That is the Problem.

To clarify, "This PC" does not freeze for me either, so it's not something that affects everyone, but there have been many similar reports. Often it's related to a recent items link to a network share or OneDrive or Office online. That's why I recommended testing with another local user account.

It's strange that all your devices have the same problem. If I press Shift + Right Click on "This PC" and click on "Manage", the "Computer Management" screen opens up immediately. If the issue you see was happening to everyone, it would be widely reported.

You may have to do some trial and error testing to determine what's causing the issue. Start by doing a Windows repair install and see if that clears up the issue. That will repair Windows files but keep your apps and data:

Also test with a different local account. That will tell you know if the issue is system-wide specific to your user profile. Here's how you can create a new local test user account:
