Same challenge as well. Madding when you scroll. Tried four different mice all same scroll down three times up once or twice then scroll down again. its very frustrating. Drivers and registry settings for scroll speed don't seem to have any effect.
Mouse scrolling broken; "jumps" back up and down
I am using a Windows 11 PC
My mouse scrolling is broken; every few scrolls, it 'jumps' back up or down; I've seen a few people have this problem, and I've tried every solution

I keep being told "it's just dust on your mouse wheel" -- I've replaced my mouse, and it's still an issue on my newest mouse, which I have only unboxed an hour prior to writing this post. It's not like I can restore my PC to a previous version where this hasn't been an issue either, I've had this problem for over a year.
Unless it's some crazy coincidence that all the mouses I've tried were defunct (They are totally functional on other computers, by the way), I'm fully convinced this is a software issue.

2025-01-05T15:34:42+00:00 I'm having the same problem with a new basic wireless MS mouse on Win 10.
This would be the 3rd mouse on 2 different computers with this problem in the past year. I bought this one bc the other 2 were a few years old with worn wheels (they wore out way too fast!) and I assumed the problem was mechanical.
Now I'm convinced it is a software problem since scrolling works OK as long as I do it slow enough. I keep a CPU monitor open to see if it's related to conflicts with background programs running (you know, the ones that MS insists improve computer performance). It could be a traffic problem, but I'm still not sure. I'm not willing yet to start screwing with rollbacks, especially if this turns out to be something MS blames on 3rd party software even though everything I have loaded is conventional and reliable (I'm hyper careful with my computers).
Maybe MS has an AI solution for it! (sarcasm intended)

2024-07-27T22:15:45+00:00 I'm still waiting as well, there hasn't been any fixes that have worked with this problem. I think at this point we just need to raise awareness of this problem loud enough that Microsoft fixes the issue.

2024-09-05T04:29:03+00:00 At this point, I've just rolled back to Windows 10. I've used up entire can of compression air, and still nothing, I've switched ports, I've unistalled and reinstalled drivers, this problem was the reason why I had bought a new mouse as I thought it was my old one dying on me. At this point I just want Microsoft to fix their bugs.

2024-07-22T16:39:04+00:00 This has been happening for about 7 months, no solution so far. Like all of you, none of the suggested solutions even remotely work. Several different mouse manufacturers (I've tried 5).
Does anyone have a fix?
