I accidentally shut down my computer during an update and now it won’t turn on

When I got off my computer at night I didn’t realize I chose the “shut down and update” options, so when my computer started to make a lot of noise I fully powered it down without thinking. The following day when I turn it on, the screen is black and nothing I have tried has done anything to change it. I still hear the fans in the computer, but I see no difference on screen. I’ve been using this dell Inspiron 15 for a couple of months now.

Visibly after I turn on the computer I do not see anything on screen. I hear the fans start to run and other noise come from the computer, but besides that my screen just stays black.

Hi, good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Restart your computer, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold the Power Button for 5 - 8 seconds or until it performs a Hard Shut Down

Do this 2 - 3 times until Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment

Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Uninstall Updates

Uninstall latest quality or feature update

Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair

If this doesn't work, Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore

Choose the restore point at an earlier date where everything is still working.

    Click Next then Finish

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

    John DeV

Thanks for updating me with that information. You may need to consider taking your computer to its nearby Service center or a PC Repair shop near you.

Do you see POST startup right after you turn on the computer? Were you able to boot into the BIOS?

    Good day,

The problem I have stumbled on is that I don’t see the three dots showing windows is loading. When I turn on my computer it is just stuck on a black screen the entire time. I tried doing what you had said anyways but no screen popped up after a couple of attempts. I am just unsure what I have to do currently regarding it. I appreciate the help.
