Getting an error message every time I try to add a new printer to a workstation via IP address saying that the printer driver was not installed and the system cannot find the file specified.

This is happening on several workstations.

I've tried manually installing the specific drivers and using the windows update drivers

The workstations have fresh installs of Win 11.

Had the same issue. For me the problem update was KB5039212. I had a printer that was already installed and had been working fine, but after the update it was giving me the message "Printer driver was not installed. The system cannot find the file specified."

After removing the Windows update, however, the printer went back to working fine without me doing anything else.

Part of my troubleshooting was to remove the below updates. After I did this, I was able to add printers.

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

    What is the printer model?

Is the printer shared directly or using a print server?
