    Hello andrew,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

There are two versions of "HEVC Video Extensions" Codec available on the Microsoft store.

    1. HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer (Free).
    2. HEVC Video Extensions (Paid).

As per the description mentioned (For free versions)- Compatible devices that support HEVC in hardware, including Intel 7th Generation Core processors and other modern GPUs.

If your device is compatible and meets the hardware requirements mentioned above, try installing the free version of the HEVC Video Extensions codec from the given link below.

Copy/paste this link into the browser:

    ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9n4wgh0z6vhq

Select Open Microsoft Store and install the app.

(Or) Open the Command prompt as administrator, copy paste the link below and click enter.

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9n4wgh0z6vhq

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N
