Laptop Lagging Significantly After Installing Java/Minecraft

Hello, my name is Joseph,

I'm seeking assistance with a performance issue on my laptop.

Problem Description.

Five days ago, I installed Minecraft (Java Edition) along with Java. After playing Minecraft for a bit, I turned off my PC. Upon turning it back on, I noticed a significant decrease in performance across various applications and games.

Performance Issues:

  • - Grand Theft Auto V:
      • Before Java: Ran at a fixed 60 FPS with no issues on ultra settings.
      • After Java: Runs at 40-60 FPS with lowest settings and frequent lag spikes.
  • - Roblox*:*
      • Before Java: Ran normally with no issues.
      • After Java: Frequently crashes and experiences lag spikes.
  • - other applications*: Also* affected similarly.
  • System Information:
    • Edition: Windows 10 Home Single Language
    • Version: 22H2
    • Installed on: 08/04/2024
    • OS build: 19045.4529
    • Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19058.1000.0
    • Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-8145U CPU @ 2.10GHz 2.30 GHz
    • Installed RAM: 4.00 GB (3.87 GB usable)
    • System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
    • C: Drive: 65GB used out of 130GB

Any suggestions or solutions to improve my laptop's performance would be greatly appreciated.
