go onto onscreen keyboard and press shift then you should she both shifts make a colour click on both of them until the numbers reappear

On the on-screen keyboard, because it is not a physical keyboard, when you click the Shift key it is a toggle key, it will stay enabled until you either click a letter key or click the Shift key again to disable, that is normal because you cannot click the Shift Key + another key at the same time.
