Windows 11 24H2 (26100.1150) - BSOD | SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

Hello,

since I installed 24H2 i am running into a sporadic BSOD with SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. It doesn't happen when I am doing a particular thing, it's just random. Maybe I can stay 2-3 days without any issue and then it just pops up. I don't know if I should blame 24H2 or not (maybe it started happening since an NVIDIA update? I don't know).

I performed an in-place upgrade since i had some other issues so the install should be fresh. I can attach the dumps.

Many thanks!

Hi Matteo, as per checking the new DMP file, it is only displaying a general error on the PC that means it is unable to point out the main error on the system, in addition, since we have done in-place upgrade that should address software-related issue and still having the same problem, I suggest contacting a local technician to physically check the device for any hardware-related issues.

    Hello,

Sadly the in-place upgrade has not been a solution this time. That was the second in-place upgrade i did to repair. A bit of context here: probably BSODs corrupted my components HIVE, restored it and did an in-place repair which succeded.

Then I wanted to take a backup with EaseUS and I tried 2 times, for both of the two times when attempting it I got a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION which lead to Windows Search corruption, here the second In-Place repair.

So I disabled EaseUs. Today I was offered an update on Windows Update, which was a NET Framework update (I don't remember the KB). Since I just did the in -place repair I thought my system was fresh so I did it. Huge mistake. I got trapped in a bootloop of BSODs with BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO! All seemed to trash but luckily I had a restore point that saved me and allowed me to boot up the machine which I am writing from right now. I never had so many BSODs on this machine so something is definitely going wrong here.

Maybe something not compatible I am using with 24H2? I don't know. For now I have paused Windows Updates and I won't run EaseUS but I am very scary something might get corrupted again, and this time in an un-recoverable way. Luckily enough, I can upload the dumps now.

Why all of this corruption? Is some hardware failing?

    Hello,

Okay after an in-place repair my system is now fully working and functional again, but before another HUGE corruption happens I have to find as soon as possible the cause of these SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION things. Otherwise i might have to keep repairing and this is not doable long term

    Hello, sadly it happened again.

I don't know if it's because of that but it happens often while i run EaseUS Todo Backup Home to make my backups. Always SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION.

Now the situation is bad. I think Windows search got corrupted and whenever I open explorer.exe it just freezes, I should restore it but I don't know how.

Since I can't browse files I can't give you dumps for now, the only thing I can do is upload events logs since i got them on my desktop.

Hi Matteo, thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, can you further check if you have more dump files on the PC? As per checking the Minidump file, it is only displaying general errors, in addition, can you please check the System logs on the PC so that we can further examine what is the root cause of the issue?
