i opened my laptop and for a split second i saw the command prompt (cmd) open and then close, there was some writing on the page but i didnt get a good look before it closed.
what does this mean? is something to be concerned about or is it nothing?
also i ran an anti malware scan on mcaffee and no malware was found.
im just wondering if this means something or its just a glitch.

When you start the computer, some programs use the command prompt to start some services, that's why it opens and closes abruptly. It is normal, but it is good to check the apps that start with your computer and scan for viruses.
You can see your startup apps on the Task Manager.
