    Hello,

I had the same issue with my Logitech G435 Headset, and everything I tried wouldn't work. All the tutorials and unchecking "listen" etc. didn't help. Out of desperation I read the manual of my headset and I realized the problem was with my headset and not with my computer. Turns out I accidentally enabled "Sidetone" which was a built in feature to the Logitech headset I had. It was as simple as pressing some buttons in a specific order on my headset and it was fixed. Perhaps for those who have tried everything else, they can look into their headsets settings/manuals and see if they accidentally enabled some sort of "Sidetone"? Usually just searching the name of your headset and scrolling down should quickly show you a pdf manual for your headphones settings.

    Hope this helped someone.

    Hello, Andreas Plattner

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you have enabled the microphone monitoring feature on your Windows device. This is a feature that lets you hear your own voice through your speakers or headphones when you use your microphone. This can be useful for testing your microphone quality, but it can also be annoying if you don’t want to hear yourself.

To stop hearing yourself on your microphone, you need to disable the microphone monitoring feature. If you are using Windows 11, you can:

open the Start menu and select Settings.
Then, go to System > Sound and click on More sound settings.
This will open the Sound Control Panel. In the Recording tab, select your microphone and click on Properties.
In the Listen tab, uncheck the Listen to this device option and click OK to save your changes. As shown below:

I hope this helps you solve your problem. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.

    Best regards,

    Chandy |Microsoft Community Support Specialist
