I've bought my Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3, r5 5500u, in Oct 2023. I haven't manually updated my  AMD Graphics drivers at all (Because of it's stability), so the previous drivers were Lenovo's OEM one's i.e.
DriverVer=07/21/2022, AMD windows driver = "30.0.14052.9003",  AMD Software driver="21.40.52.09-220721a-381556C-Lenovo". My Windows get updated automatically and from Lenovo Vantage app, I've downloaded other updates like BIOS and all which also comes from Lenovo.

Yesterday, My Windows automatically downloaded AMD drivers, ver=06/06/2024, AMD windows driver = "31.0.21912.3005",  AMD Software driver="23.19.12.03". When I opened my AMD Adrenalin software , it gave me an error (as stated in the attachment ) ![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/352c5e0e-9fa5-4429-8ab5-e388b3d3f042?platform=QnA"https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/44b2b22b-7a5c-4918-856f-bb42c3d6dce3?platform=QnA" title="filestore.community.support.microsoft.com" rel="ugc nofollow">![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/44b2b22b-7a5c-4918-856f-bb42c3d6dce3?platform=QnA

There is no way to get the Adrenalin software without installing new drivers, it may be best to roll your AMD drivers back to the previous version.

Thank you for the reply, but I've not selected "get latest updates" and I update BIOS from Lenovo Vantage only.

Win11 by default only installs critical security updates, unless you made the mistake of selecting “Get latest updates” which includes drivers.

See your laptop makers support to update both bios and ALL drivers.

There should be a shortcut to that makers update utility on your system.

Then set Bios to defaults & Pwr to balanced. At the end of the day shutdown, do not leave in sleep.

In the case of Lenovo, its Vantage shorcut

Do not update drivers from any other source including device manager
