I got a loud voice warning about Trojan virus

My Norton software scan indicates that I need to update Google Chrome but was unsuccessful. So I tried from the Google Chrome page and got a loud verbal warning with a phone number. That number didn't match other online numbers, saw that this warning may be a phasing scam so I shut down. Now what do I do to get running again?

That is definitely a scam. Generally if you didn't click anything on the scam web page it did no harm. If you restart your computer and it does not recur things are alright.

If it does recur it could indicate that malware changed your home page and scans with your antivirus program and an additional scanner free Malwarebytes would be advisable.

Chrome usually updates itself, but you can open Chrome and go to Settings About Chrome to check for updates.
