Hello,

I've. been trying to install windows 10 on a new SSD and computer, but I've run into errors. I would debug and fix these errors but mid tutorial it would run into new errors, so I feel like i'm stuck. Here I will list the errors, I've already researched and attempted to solve them but would always lead to more errors

  1. 0x80300001 Error, "Can't install in this location"
  2. "Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install windows, restart the installation"

Heres some links to the problems that I attempted to fix with.

Any help is appreciated, I can further show images or elaborate on anything.

Hello NicholasUT, I'm Quinn, and I'm happy to help you.

It's definitely been a frustrating process, but hopefully, we can get this sorted out. Here's a breakdown of the steps to address Error 1, which is preventing the Windows 10 installation on the new SSD. Error 1: 0x80300001 - "Can't install in this location", This error typically occurs when Windows Setup cannot install to the selected partition or disk. Here are some steps to troubleshoot this, ensure that the SSD is properly recognized in your BIOS/UEFI settings. Sometimes, a drive may not appear if it's not properly connected or initialized. During the installation process, you can delete existing partitions on the SSD and create a new one for Windows to install. Here's how:

    1. When you see the list of drives/partitions during installation, select the SSD.
    2. Click "Delete" to remove any existing partitions on the SSD (this will erase data on the SSD).
    3. After deleting, click "New" to create a new partition. Ensure it's set to be the primary partition and click "Next."
    4. Format the Partition: Once the partition is created, select it and click "Format" to prepare it for Windows installation.

After formatting, retry the installation on the newly created partition. I apologize for the inconvenience. Would you mind resending the links again, as it seems I'm encountering an error? If you require any further assistance or have more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
