Hi Welcome to Microsoft community. Unfortunately, the ability to tag photos directly in OneDrive has been removed by Microsoft. This was a feature that was previously available, but it has been discontinued.

Here's a quick summary of the current state of photo tagging in OneDrive:

    1. Photo Tagging Removal:
      • Microsoft has removed the built-in photo tagging functionality from OneDrive. This means you can no longer add tags or captions to your photos directly within the OneDrive web interface or mobile apps.
    2. Alternative Photo Management Options:
      • If you need to tag or caption your photos, you'll need to use a different photo management solution, such as:
        • Microsoft Photos app (available on Windows 11/10)
        • Third-party photo management software
        • Tagging directly on the photo file before uploading to OneDrive
    3. Limitations and Workarounds:
      • Without the native photo tagging feature in OneDrive, you'll need to rely on these alternative methods to organize and manage your photos.
      • Some users have reported using browser extensions or third-party tools to add metadata to photos in OneDrive, but these may not be as seamless as the previous built-in tagging feature.

It's important to note that Microsoft's decision to remove the photo tagging functionality from OneDrive was likely based on user feedback and usage patterns. While it may be an inconvenience for some users and may have determined that the feature was not widely used enough to justify maintaining it. If you have a strong need for photo tagging within your OneDrive workflow, you may want to provide feedback to Microsoft or consider alternative photo management solutions that better suit your requirements.

Let me know if you need further assistance.Best regardsDerrick Qian | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

Hi Hwells_253. My name is Ivan, and I am an Microsoft Expert. I'd be more than happy to assist you. I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Don't worry, I'll do everything I can to help you.

Yes, tagging photos in OneDrive is still an option. It's possible the tutorials you followed might be outdated, or there could be a slight difference depending on how you're accessing OneDrive. Here's how to tag photos in OneDrive:

    **Using OneDrive Website:**

    1. Go to [https://onedrive.live.com/login/](https://onedrive.live.com/login/) and log in to your OneDrive account.
    2. Click on "Photos" from the left navigation pane.
    3. Select the photo you want to tag.
    4. Hover your mouse over the photo to reveal the hidden menu options.
    5. Click the information icon (i) or the three dots (...) to open the details pane.
    6. Look for "Edit tags" or "Tags" option. Click on it.
    7. In the "Add tag" box, type your desired tag and press Enter. You can add multiple tags separated by commas.

    **Using OneDrive Desktop App:**

Unfortunately, tagging photos directly within the OneDrive desktop app is not currently supported. You'll need to use the OneDrive website as described above.

    **Troubleshooting Tips:**

    * **Refresh the page:** Sometimes a simple refresh can resolve glitches. Try refreshing the OneDrive website after logging in.

    * **Check for Updates:** Ensure you're using the latest version of your web browser. Outdated browsers might have compatibility issues.

    * **Sign Out and Sign Back In:** Try logging out of your OneDrive account and signing back in.

If you're still having trouble tagging photos after following these steps, there might be a temporary issue with OneDrive. You can check the [https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365...](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/view-service-health?view=o365-worldwide) page to see if there are any reported problems with OneDrive.

    I hope this helps!

I apologize that the previous instructions didn't work for you. It seems tagging functionality might be missing in your specific scenario. Here are some additional things to try:

    1. **Double-Check OneDrive Version:**

    * Make sure you're using the latest version of OneDrive. Outdated versions might have missing features. You can usually check for updates within the OneDrive app itself or by visiting the Microsoft website for your specific operating system.

    1. **Try a Different Browser (if using OneDrive website):**

    * If you're using the OneDrive website, try accessing it in a different web browser. Sometimes browser compatibility can affect certain features.

    1. **Sign Out and Sign Back In:**

    * Sometimes a simple sign out and sign back in to your OneDrive account can resolve temporary glitches.

    1. **OneDrive Desktop App Limitations:**

    * As mentioned earlier, tagging photos directly within the OneDrive desktop app is not currently supported. Make sure you're following the steps for the OneDrive website and not the desktop app.

I hope these additional tips help you get photo tagging working in your OneDrive!
