Secure Boot Enabled in BIOS but Showing as Off in System Info on MSI GF63 Thin 9RCX

Hello,

I have an MSI GF63 Thin 9RCX laptop with an Intel i7 9th Gen processor. I recently encountered an issue where Secure Boot, which was previously enabled and functioning correctly, is now showing as "Off" in System Information despite being enabled in the BIOS settings. My BIOS is set to UEFI mode.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  1. Verified that Secure Boot is enabled in the BIOS.
  2. Ensured that BIOS is in UEFI mode.
  3. Updated the BIOS/UEFI firmware to the latest version.
  4. Checked for and installed all Windows updates.
  5. Reviewed recent software and driver changes.
  6. Ran System File Checker (SFC), which found and repaired corrupted files.
  7. Verified Windows boot configuration.
  8. Disabled and re-enabled Secure Boot in BIOS.
  9. Checked boot order to prioritize UEFI boot sources.
  10. Verified and set BIOS/UEFI password if required.

Despite these steps, Secure Boot still shows as "Off" in System Information, and I cannot seem to turn it back on.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any suggestions on how to resolve this?

    Thank you for the screenshot.

Please provide a photo of the tab in your BIOS where the Secure Boot settings are located.

Click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

    Hi Dave,

Thank you for your suggestion. I followed the steps to reset the TPM keys in BIOS and restarted my PC. Unfortunately, Windows still does not recognize Secure Boot as enabled.

Do you have any other recommendations?

    Thanks for your help.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you do not have your drive encrypted with Bitlocker and if you do not use a PIN to log into Windows in BIOS, then in BIOS, find the TPM settings, and select the option to reset TPM keys, save that setting and restart your PC to check if Windows sees Secure Boot is enabled.
