My laptop screen is broken. However, it works normally if I connect a second monitor to it. I would like to do a factory reset but the recovery and boot modes are not visible as they do no show on the second screen. Is there any way to make the recovery/reboot options viewable on another screen connected via HDMI?

    Hello, I'm here to help.

You need to completely disconnect the laptop's built-in screen, otherwise the external screen will not work in the BIOS or system installation screen.

This is because the built-in screen always has a higher priority unless it is not present. You may need to disassemble the laptop and disconnect the built-in screen cable.

To factory reset your laptop with a broken screen using an external monitor:

    1. Connect the external monitor to your laptop.
    2. Open Windows Recovery by going to Settings (Windows Key + I > Update & Security > Recovery) and choose Reset this PC.
    3. Access WinRE by restarting and pressing F8, F11, or Shift + F8 repeatedly.
    4. Adjust BIOS Settings if necessary to set the external monitor as the primary display.
    5. Create a Bootable USB with Windows installation media and use it to perform a clean install if needed.

I had already done these methods and still didn't work. BIOS and recovery mode doesn't shows up in second monitor. I guess recovery mode and BIOS are typically displayed on the primary screen, anyway I'll try Sakiko's method. Thanks for the info Harshita.
