So I saw an Ad on removed link (Global Scammer Database) about removed link (Browser Extension), when I clicked it, it forwarded me to Guardio where I can pay for a subscription??? Is this legit or a scam? I also dont know what scammer.live is to be honest, it says its a global scammer database, I found scammer.live on Google because I would like to report a Skype user who scammed me. Now I am not sure if my computer is safe, because of all this trouble. Anyone can explain to me? Im not good in this area.

    Hi Aaron and Mark,

I did some research. Scammer.live is a legitimate Global Scammer Database and Fraud Prevention Platform. Guardio is also legit and has a safe browser extension. They are partners, which is why you see ads for Guardio.

Aaron is right to suggest being careful, but you can trust both platforms. They are used by thousands of people.

    Hello, Mark La.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your feedback. First and foremost, it is important to make sure that your computer and personal information are safe. If you suspect that you may have encountered a scam or downloaded unsafe software, please take the following steps immediately:

Don't give out personal information: Don't give out any personal information, especially bank account or credit card details, on websites you are unsure about.

Check your security software: Make sure you have reliable security software installed on your computer and that it is up to date. Run a full virus scan. If your scanning software comes up clean, then it is advisable to change your passwords for various accounts as well.

Review your bank and credit card statements: Check your bank and credit card statements to make sure there are no unauthorized transactions.

Update your passwords: If you think any of your account information may have been compromised, change your passwords immediately.

Regarding the websites and browser extensions you mentioned:

scammer.live: I was unable to verify if this site is a legitimate global scammer database. Reporting scammers on the web is a good idea, but you should only use well-known and trusted platforms or services.

Guardio Browser Extension: Guardio claims to be a security extension to protect users from online threats. However, since you're seeing this advertised on a website that you're not sure is trustworthy, you should do thorough research before installing or paying anything. Check for user reviews, ratings, and independent cybersecurity reviews.

For your safety, it is recommended that you:

Download browser extensions only from official stores or trusted sources.

Conduct online research to find out the feedback and ratings of other users before installing any software or browser extensions.

If you are unsure about the legitimacy of a website or service, do not provide any personal information or make a payment, and access it using your browser's privacy mode (three dots in the upper right corner of the EDGE, new privacy mode).

I look forward to your feedback.

    Best Regards,

    Aaron| Microsoft Community Support Specialist
