It's not only him who faces this issue. I think there is some compatibility issue with Windows 11 and Valorant. I am facing this issue for the last 20 days. I have 2 more friends facing the same issue. I have tried the above solutions and if it freezes again I will comeback and re inform but for now I can't really tell it fixes the issue or not.
When Opening/Closing/During playing valorant, opening windows explorer will freeze my pc fully.
This seems like a problem with windows 11 and probably a problem since the beginning of the launch ofit since i have checked reddit and most of the people have the same issue as me but still not fixed till this day. I would ahve to force shutdown my pc everytime this happens. I cant even do anything like win+tab/ ctrl+alt+del or anything,
System info:
ryzen 7 7700
rtx 4070 super
32 GB RAM
Win 11

I understand the frustrating problem you are facing. Let's try some solutions to resolve this freezing issue when opening Windows Explorer while playing Valorant on Windows 11.
1.Check for Windows Updates:
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Check for pending updates and install all available updates.
2.Update GPU Drivers:
Download and install the latest drivers from NVIDIA for your GPU (RTX 4070 Super) directly from the NVIDIA website: NVIDIA Drivers.
3.Disable Fullscreen Optimizations:
Right-click the Valorant icon and select "Properties".
Go to the "Compatibility" tab and check "Disable fullscreen optimizations".
Click "Apply" and then "OK".
4.Adjust Power Settings:
Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings.
Select "High performance" as the power plan.
5.Check System File Integrity:
Open Command Prompt as administrator.
Type the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow
This command will check and repair corrupted system files.
6.Run Disk Checker:
Open Command Prompt as administrator.
Type the following command and press Enter: chkdsk /f /r
You may need to restart your computer to complete the check.
7.Disable Background Software:
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
Go to the "Startup" tab and disable unnecessary programs that start with Windows.
Also, disable any software that might be interfering during gameplay, such as hardware monitoring or overclocking software.
8.Reinstall Valorant:
As a last resort, try uninstalling and reinstalling Valorant to ensure there are no corrupted game files.
These steps should help resolve the issue of freezing when opening Windows Explorer while playing Valorant. I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.
