Thanks for the info JW! That sounds awesome. Back when Money and Quicken were first allowed to access banks there was controversy so I never allowed it and thus never became accustomed to it, so Money NOT accessing my bank would not be an issue to me. Do you know of a resource to find a sunset copy of the version you a running? I'm so frustrated with the countless problems with Quicken, I think I'd go back to Money, even with the limitations you outlined. I still scratch my head wondering what brilliant idiot at Microsoft came up with the idea to sunset Money? Simply put, it was a far, far better product that anything Quicken ever put out.
Why doesn't Microsoft bring back Microsoft Money and release it as part of Office 365?
One of the dumbest product decisions Microsoft has made is discontinuing Microsoft Money. The product was always superior to Quicken, yet Microsoft abandoned its product. People are clearly still interested in the product because people are still asking for it years after it was discontinued. I've bought Quicken in recent years. It still stinks as a product and constantly has error messages where it doesn't even work for the features you're paying for. I have trouble all the time trying to update my account balances. I never had issues with Money and Money was always very easy to use.
Microsoft should really bring back Microsoft Money and stop letting Quicken sell their garbage product. The best way to go would be to release the Home and Business version so everyone would benefit. Smartest way to do it would be to add it to the Office 365 subscription. You would probably get subscribers for 365 just because of that product. The people want this product. Please Microsoft bring it back.

2024-08-15T01:10:45+00:00 Hi tostito98, I agree with most of what you say. Yes, Money is way way beyond it's supported life, that's true. Every known security flaw is ONLINE for criminals to exploit. The Money software would be very vunerable if it was online. However, that is where Money has an advantage - it is not online. The program resides as a standalone program usually on a PC or laptop hard drive along with the datafiles. I am guessing that most users gave up the online features long ago and the only connection with the internet occurs when they back up data files to the cloud which is protected by the cloud server along with every other file, document, picture video etc going into a data centre. When I sign into Money, I always click the "work offline" checkbox as that is the only way to get the program to stay offline and actually work. When I need to move the data files, I do so with a USB stick or download from my cloud server. Sure it is a bit of a pain, but it is secure (unless someone steals my USB stick and then they will need the decryption password anyway). There were some advantages to the pre-internet age or when people use pre-internet tech.
Having said that, I agree completely that Microsoft could incorporate Money into Office 365 and add the usual 21st century security features to this brilliant product.
I am not an IT genius, so I could be missing something here with my assumptions. What do you think?

2024-07-12T23:19:22+00:00 I totally agree with many of the comments below. Microsoft Money was a FAR SUPERIOR product to the joke that is Quicken. Microsoft PLEASE reconsider bringing Money back! If it would run on Win11 I'd be running a sunset copy now!!
I am running it on Windows 11.
The problem is at the end of every import the balance is off a little bit and I have to enter an adjustment. But still far better than all of the screen scraping apps that break every other week.

2024-08-11T08:14:00+00:00 I'm running Money on Microsoft 11 Home. Works flawlessly.
I miss the earlier days of online banking and being able to connect Money to my bank to download and reconcile statements but it still does the job beautifully.
Over the years I have re-installed a few times as I've upgraded my PC and am now running Microsoft Money Deluxe Version 14.0.120.1105 which I downloaded back in 2020 (I think) as Money Plus Sunset Deluxe. It's a US version, but apart from getting used to Cashpoints being named ATMs, the trans-atlantic version doesn't trouble me.

2024-07-12T23:01:04+00:00 I would love a windows 11 version. If it could be scalable fonts too, so it could be customised to the latest HD screen size. That would be amazing :)
