I was running really low on storage on my OMEN Gaming 16-wd0828no Laptop when I discovered when looking at Installed Apps that I have 10 Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime which is obviously taking up a LOT of space
Do I really need all of them? if not, how can I tell which I have to keep and not?

It is not safe to delete any of those runtimes, when software developers create software, they target a specific version of that runtime, if you delete any of them, any software the needs that version for functionality, will no longer work correctly.
They are probably updated from Windows updates, you can try uninstalling some of the old ones, but that may cause some software on your PC to stop functioning.
But why are there so many? there hasn't always been 10 of them taking up this much space
