Transparent white box appears when I long press my touchscreen laptop

Info: I have no third party apps installed aside from google chrome.

A transparent white box appears when I long press the top section of a touchscreen on chrome, edge, settings, file explorer and the home screen. However, for settings, file explorer and home screen, the transparent white box does not stay forever, while on chrome and edge, it stayed on the screen forever. When I screen shot the section with these boxes, it does not appear in the screen shot. How to disable this function?

Here is a photo of it: https://imgur.com/a/CIb0Jek (I cannot insert a photo because I am a new user)

Got the same issue. just want to get rid of the box together because the behavior is also modifying input for the underlying application causing finger movement to be stuck.

Same problem here on YOGA 9i with Intel processor. I did what you said, but it didn't solve my problem.

(I Must add that it doesn't happen everytime!)

I have not installed any desktop beautification software, the only software i have is "Google Chrome", "Microsoft Edge", Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime" and "Embarcadero Dev-C++". "Embarcadero Dev-C++" is just a normal C++ IDE.

Initially, "Show visual feedback when touching the screen" was turned off, the transparent white box still appears.

    Thank you.

    Hello Cissy Fung,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

What brand and model of touch screen device is your computer?

Based on the problem you described, I can reproduce it on Surface Pro8, but we can turn it off by changing the settings:

Please enter the control panel, select the large icon in the upper right corner of the view mode, click "pen and touch", find "display intuitive response when touching the screen", uncheck this option to see if the problem is solved.

If this method doesn't work, the problem may not be related to system settings, so we check with you to see if there are specific settings.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If anything is unclear, please feel free to leave us a message.

    Regards,

    Manson |Microsoft Community Support Specialist

I am using a Lenovo Yoga 6 Gen 8 with an AMD processor. I am also using Windows 11 Home only. Unfortunately, I cannot locate "display intuitive response when touching the screen". I have dug through the whole "pen and touch" page and searched the keywords in the control panel search function, but I still can't find it. The only options with the check box is the following:

    • Use the pen as a right-click equivalent
    • Use the top of the pen to erase ink (where available)
    • Show visual feedback when touching the screen
    • Optimize visual feedback for projection to an external monitor

    Thank you.
