I apologize, just to be clear, there are instances where hidden system files or permission issues can interfere with updating the drive label. If this doesn't work let's move on to other troubleshooting, try these steps:

    1. Open 'Winrar'.
    2. On the Search Box type your USB drive (example: "H:").
    3. Find "autorun.inf", and delete it.
    4. Close 'Winrar'
    5. Press the F5 key to refresh your computer.
    6. Open File Explorer, on the 'This PC', right-click on the USB drive and select "Rename."
    7. Enter the desired name "Kingston" and press Enter.
    8. Eject the USB drive, then reinsert it and see if the name has changed.

If you're planning to check if there's any malware on your USB. I suggest using a reliable third-party antivirus program like Malwarebytes, Kaspersky, or Bitdefender. Let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance with this.

Yes, just make sure that it's for the USB H, and after deleting the file, press F5 to refresh File Explorer. Then proceed with the steps.

Hi there Quinn, i think you did not get what i meant what i meant was on file explorer the name of the usb i set for that specific usb is not showing up instead it is just showing the name USB Drive (H:) but I changed the name to Kingston using minitool partition manager which did work but i guess the problem is the file explorer because if i open disk management the name is correct there. below is an pic of what i mean. Also i tried the command it just said file not found and there is no hidden file i mean there was but i fixed that by watching an video on youtube and I watched the vid and fixed it before making a post here.

What is shown in file explorer:

Hello Zunayed, I'm Quinn, and I'm happy to help you.

One possible cause of this is hidden files or incorrect permissions. You can check for these by opening the 'Command Prompt' as an administrator and running the following command to reveal any hidden files on your USB drive.

    attrib -H -S /S /D X:\

Replace 'X' with your USB drive letter.
