My computer cannot run Fortnite because of a memory leak, not 100% sure if it is a memory leak all I know is that I've seen someone else in the windows forums have a similar issue and called it a memory leak. Anyways, i was wondering how I could fix this issue. Randomly when I have no applications open my computer just takes up to 9 gb of my 16 gb ram at a time, even though the applications that I have open don't even add up to 1gb sometimes.

I have the same issue. Edge takes up most of the memory (32 G in total) after nine hours of locking the screen.

Users cannot fix a memory leak. Only the developer of the leaking application can do that, since only they have access to the source code.

Identify the leaking application. Then contact the developer and provide as much supporting documentation as you can about the leak. Remember: If a leak can't be replicated, it can't be fixed.

    Hello,Gavin Inez

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

Understanding that you are suspecting a memory leak on your device, let's first confirm the situation on your computer by following the steps below, while you can share a screenshot of the result with me for further analysis.

    • Do you experience this issue only when you start Fortnite?
    • Please right click on the Start icon and select Task Manager to check if the memory column usage is normal.
    • Then please press Windows+R, type MdSched, tap Enter to open the Memory Diagnostic Tool, tap Reboot Now and Check for Problems, follow the prompts, wait for it to complete, and check the report to see if there is a problem detected. Please note that this step usually requires multiple checks and you should ideally perform it at least five times to check for problems.
    • Finally you can refer to the steps in the link below to check if there is a corresponding problem:
