This Windows 11 problem has been around for months, and MS appears to be oblivious. It occurs, for me, on desktop and laptop systems. The only way around it, that I have found, is to totally avoid sleep mode. This is, of course, a big power waster. But then, it's your electric bill, not MS's.
Windows 11 PC Sleep Mode Issue: Unresponsive Wake-Up and Fast-Spinning Fans
I am encountering a problem with my Windows 11 PC where it fails to wake up from sleep mode. The only solution I've found to turn it back on is by manually switching off the power supply and then switching it back on. Additionally, I've noticed that as soon as I initiate sleep mode, my computer's fans start spinning at a high speed. This issue began occurring randomly, and I have not made any recent updates or changes to my system.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken So Far:
- Checked for Windows Updates: I ensured that my Windows 11 is up to date with the latest updates and patches.
- Driver Updates: I have also verified that all my device drivers are up to date.
- Power Settings: I reviewed and adjusted my power settings
- Enabled & Disabled Fast Startup and Hibernate

2024-11-04T00:21:25+00:00 Microsoft just needs to come forthright and admit they have a code flaw. NOTHING is working on resolving this windows 11 sleep to wake problem.

2024-03-25T07:56:09+00:00 I am also having this problem. I am using an ASRock motherboard. Most the time my PC wakes from sleep no problem but once every week or two when I go to wake it the fans spin up and leds light up but there is no video output. I've tried switching USB ports and pressing the power button when this happens and still nothing happens. The only way to resolve is to force shut down the PC by holding down the power button/switching off the power supply and restart the computer.

2024-01-18T00:19:07+00:00 I have this same issue and I updated my bios to the newest one 2 days ago and it keeps happening.
Sometimes it wakes up from sleep mode, other times it does not.
All the monitor lights just blink and the PC lights and fans come on, but it never actually comes back (I can't force shut down from the keyboard)
I have to shut the power supply off, drain residual power, turn PSU back on and then it works to start up again

2024-04-04T00:33:58+00:00 Have you figured out how to fix this?
I have Gigabyte B550 DS3H and am having what sounds like the exact same issue. I used to happen randomly but now happens every time it goes to sleep. The mouse and keyboard don't wake it from sleep. Plugging in USB or unplugging USB devices doesn't work. Fans are spinning full speed and RGB is all lit up like my PC is working hard. The power/reset button is also unresponsive so the only way to fix is to turn off the PSU.
Solutions I've tried:
Bios and Drivers Updates
Windows update
Windows reinstall
Fast boot disabled
Hybrid sleep disabled
Away Mode disabled
