Cannot Add Friends on Minecraft on Nintendo Switch, Message on Minecraft reads

"You cannot play online multiplayer because of a parental contraol restriction. View and manage you multiplayer settings with "Communicating With Others" in the parental controls."

WHICH PARENTAL CONTROLS? One very fed up mum and fed up child who just wants to play with his friends. I've checked the XBox account settings to 'allow', makes no difference. Am I supposed to be looking at parental control settings on Microsoft? Can't see where I would change those. So confused and had enough. Really cannot spend any more hours trying to figure this out. Would rather throw the game away.

Who designs this stuff? Certainly not mothers.

    Hi,

I am Tanvi, and I would be happy to assist you today!

Firstly, Check Nintendo Switch Parental Controls- This is the most likely culprit.

    • Access the parental controls settings on your Nintendo Switch.
    • Look for a setting related to "online play" or "communication with others."
    • Adjust the settings to allow Minecraft to have online multiplayer.

    Secondly, Verify Microsoft Account Settings-

    1. Sign in to your child's Microsoft account on a computer or Xbox.

    2. Navigate to privacy settings.

    3. Ensure "Communicating with others" is set to an appropriate level (likely "Allow").

Additionally, Make sure you have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Minecraft online multiplayer requires it.
