Need help with Windows 11 updates (Windows update stuck at 0%)

I’m experiencing issues with Windows 11 updates. I’ve been running various diagnostics because I encountered problems while using 3D software (The steps taken:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/need-help-with-bsod-issues-on-my-pc-mostly-occurs/a0dc9a85-ab5f-41c9-ad8d-fbac96dcc7ec?rtAction=1723220583614).

After these diagnostics, some minor issues arose, so I re-downloaded Windows.

Since the download, the computer seems to have mostly returned to normal, but for several days, the Windows update has been stuck at 0%, and every time I start the computer, I get error messages like the ones below.

Good news! After a few reboots, updating some drivers, and experiencing a few blue screens, the Windows Update issue has been resolved! All updates are now complete. Thank you so much for your help. I believe that the do-mode-99.reg might have helped, as you mentioned. Should I leave it as it is, or should I run the undo.reg file since the issue is now resolved?

You may run the undo now. If future updates fail to install, please rerun do-mode-99 and reboot.

Please try resetting Windows Update using this batch file:

    https://gist.github.com/winhelponline/af9296c106448a664a6229d8146a85fd

    1. Download the zip file and extract the batch file to the desktop.
    2. Right-click on the batch file and click Properties, click "Unblock" (if present), and OK.
    3. Double-click the batch file to run it.
    4. After it completes execution, don't close it yet.
    5. Right-click on that Command Prompt window, click "Edit" and click "Select all"
    6. Right-click on that Command Prompt window, click "Edit" and click "Copy"

(This copies the output to the clipboard.)

    1. Paste the info (Ctrl + V) into your reply window.

Hello! Thank you for your response. I followed your suggestion and downloaded the MCT tool to reinstall Windows 11. I am currently in the process of following the steps you mentioned in red. While trying to install from the ISO I downloaded, I noticed that the "Keep personal files and apps" option is greyed out and unavailable. Do you know why this might be? I can’t proceed any further because of this issue.

    Hi, YeaAn

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are experiencing Windows Update Stuck and PcaSvc.dll Error Reporting issues. The reasons for these two issues are different, as your inability to update may be related to an error in your update cache and not connecting to the update server, while the dll error may be related to a corrupted system component.Considering the number of complicated steps that may be required to solve your problem individually, it is recommended that you repair your system directly through Media Creation Tool, which will update your system and repair the system components directly. This is not a reinstallation, it will repair your system and will not delete files or applications. However, if you have important data on your computer, we still recommend backing it up in advance.Once you have completed your backup, follow the steps in the guide below:Download Media Creation Tool by visiting the site below and clicking on “Download Tool Now” (not “Update Now”).-Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) Run the MCT tool, create an ISO image and run it!When the ISO file has finished downloading, double-click it to open it and run setup.exe.-Select “Not Now” on the “Get Updates, Drivers, and Options” page.-Next Confirm your files, applications. Settings are preserved. It will also show you the version of Windows it will install. If you are asked to enter a key, the ISO you downloaded does not match your current system version.-On the Select what to keep screen, select Keep files and applications.Click Install to begin the non-destructive repair.Disclaimer: Let’s try performing an in-place install or in-place upgrade which will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being said, we always recommend that if you have important data, you should back it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data first, please do so. Once you are done backing up, you can follow the steps in the following guides:How to run In-place upgrade in Windows 11 - Microsoft CommunityIf you have any progress, please feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards
