I cannot disable this Virtual Camera, which is linked to my phone through the Phone Link app. How do I disable it or, in fact, remove the virtual cam from the system?

Any assistance would be greatly helpful. Hoping for responses.

Even when I tried uninstalling the app through Powershell commands, it did disappear from the PC, and I uninstalled it from my phone, too, but the device never went away and still gave a black screen. In normal conditions, it shows the camera view through the Phone's Front cam.

    Hi Ishan,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

    The feature is described here:

Ability to use a mobile device’s camera as a webcam on your PC begins rolling out to Windows Insiders

    https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2024/...

To disable the Camera, go to Settings > Bluetooth and Devices > Mobile devices > Manage Devices > Use as connected Camera to off.

Hope that helps, and rely on us for any further inquiries. All the best.

The fact this is so hard to find worries me, but thank you! you are a GODSEND!

I have created a feedback report letting them know this being opt out is a grievous security concern. It is probably the worst security concern they have ever had in the history of Microsoft.

    Hello,

I have an MSI 15 B13V. My camera has always worked. When I installed the Windows link recently, it began malfunctioning. I've deleted the camera, drivers, and windows link from my computer. I'm still getting no image. I also get a phone with a lock on it when I open the camera app. I'm unable to use my camera at all. I've also deleted my phone from my computer. How can I rectify this?
