How do I enable DirectX 12 Ultimate? Inzoi Error Message

Hello, I need help with an error message. I've just downloaded a game on Steam, it's the Inzoi demo. I'm using a Surface Pro 8, running Windows 11 with a Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics card. When I tried to launch the game I got this error message "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument." Can someone explain how to do this? Thank you.

Update: I just search dxdiag in my start menu. I have DirectX 12.

Newer Update: On the second page of dxdiag it says "DirectX 12 Ultimate: Disabled"

How do I enable this?

    Hi,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

The Inzoi game requires DirectX 12 Feature Level 2, unfortunately, your device graphics processor does not support DirectX 12 Feature Level 2, only DirectX 12 Feature level 1.

Your device is not capable of running this game because it does not meet this minimum requirement.

The error message is generic. While DX errors are often regarding missing or corrupted DX files. There are several other

issues that can lead to DX errors, and not using a graphics processor that is capable of running a game, even if it is

DX12 'capable', is one of them.

This game has quite a high minimum graphics processor requirement - Nvidia RTX 2060 \ AMD 5600 XT.

You Intel Iris integrated graphics is not capable of running this and many other games with lower minimum requirements.

Partly because of the overall processing requirements of the game, but also because many games require a certain

amount of VRAM, and VRAM (vs system RAM) is only found on dedicated graphics cards.

Integrated graphics has no VRAM and uses\shares the system RAM (as games also do when there is a graphics card with VRAM).

    • Also note that DX12 Ultimate effects are limited to the current Nvidia RTX series gpu's, but games with those DX12 effects would

allow for other DX12 capable gpu's to run the game using other DX12 effects options in the games settings.

It is generally best to start your own thread unless you have the exact same issue as the OP, who in this case has no dedicated gpu.

Anyone who has a DX12 Ultimate capable Nvidia gpu who gets a DX error may find they just need to update their graphics drivers.

    • This game has not been officially released yet and may still have it's own problems, but an RTX2060 should be able to run game

using 'normal' DX12 effects. If not, the developers are unlikely to sell many copies as this would put a big limitation on who can run it.

Particularly as AMD gpu's do not currently have the DX12 Ultimate option.

My understanding is that DX12 Ultimate is available on RTX 2000\3000 Super and Ti (starting with RTX2080 Ti ) models,

but not the standard RTX2000\3000 models.

Nvidia gpu's that are DX12 Ultimate capable with show Feature Level 12_2 in the dxdiag Display tab.

Search dxdiag and select the top result. Once the DirectX diagnostic has opened select the Display tab and look at the Feature levels under Drivers.

You graphics should support DirectX 12 with the latest drivers from Nvidia installed.

So how is this fixed then? I have this same issue and everything is updated. Do I have to buy a new processor or buy a higher-end computer? My DDI shows 12 and GForce RTX 2060 and DirectX 12 Ultimate disabled.
