How to fix "Scanning for games on local network" on Minecraft: Java Edition?

I've tried several things like "Allow app through windows firewall", disabling temporary (Windows) antivirus, updating Windows, changing the network to private (both PCs), reinstalling Minecraft Launcher and Minecraft Java, and none of those have worked.

The PC I'm trying to join a LAN world uses a direct Ethernet (cable/wired) connection and the PC (a laptop) that hosts the LAN game uses WiFi (wireless) connection. (Maybe does it have something to do?).

I tried joining the LAN world with another laptop and it did work.

I'm not sure if there's an additional “setting” I haven't tried yet.

Could someone help me please? ɔ:

    Hi,

Thanks for updating me. Are you connected wifi?

If yes, please click on that and then click on the properties after that, uncheck 'VMware Bridge Protocol' and 'VirtualBox Bridged Network Driver'".

I hope this will resolve your issue, but if you have any queries, please let me know, and we will resolve them.

Hey, thank you for taking your time to respond my question!
I tried following the steps you said, but I got lost in "Right click 'Local Area Connection Properties'->Uncheck 'VMware Bridge Protocol' and 'VirtualBox Bridged Network Driver'".

Just to be sure, is the "Local Area Connection Properties" this, right?:

And when I click "Properties" I can't see the "VMware Bridge Protocol" adn the "VirtualBox Bridged Network Driver" options:

    Maybe I'm missing something? :c
