Hello, I'm Quinn, and I'm happy to help.

Here's how to use an SD card on your laptop that's already running Windows.

    1. Insert the SD card into the SD card slot on your laptop. If your laptop doesn’t have an SD card slot, you can use a USB SD card reader.
    2. Open File Explorer and look for the SD card under "This PC" It should show up as a removable drive.
    3. Then Double-click on the SD card drive to access its contents.

And yes, your data should remain intact on the SD card when used on any laptop, as long as the card is properly ejected and the file system is compatible with the laptop.

Are you talking about Windows to Go?

Or do you mean using a boot memory card (usually USB flash drive) to install windows?

An SD card is added storage over and above the internal storage in the laptop. Does the laptop have a SD card slot, if not you will need a USB card reader.

If I've misunderstood then please explain more.
