Windows 10. Looking at my start menu the other day, in the list I see Apple Software Update. Then I go Start > Settings > Apps. There I see Apple Software Update 4.05 MB 2.7.03 1/6/2024. I don't do anything Apple. Why is it on my computer? Can I TrashIt without damaging my Windows system? All ideas, suggestions, comments any wish to offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, K.

Hello kthr33 Welcome back to the Microsoft. Community!

First of all I would like to address the reason to why you have Apple software on your Windows PC, this may be due to the app being installed in your PC before or maybe while installing another app onto your PC, that app would have automatically be installed on your PC.

If you do not have any relation to this app then you may uninstall it by following these steps:

    1. Left click on the Windows button and find the Settings app and open it.
    2. Left click on the "Apps" button and wait until all the apps installed on your PC loads.
    3. Navigate to the "Search this list" search bar and type in the app you want to uninstall.
    4. Finally, left click on the desired app you want to uninstall and left click on "Uninstall" and confirm that you want to uninstall.

Follow the onscreen steps to uninstall the app and you're good to go! Just for good measures, Restart your PC to complete the uninstallation. Note: Sometimes the app that you are trying to uninstall may have other dependencies like the app updater etc. follow the steps again to uninstall them.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If oyu do not use any Apple software like iCloud or iTunes... etc. then you can safely uninstall the Apple Software Update from your PC, it is not required.
