Reset "Like the image that you see?" in Windows Spotlight?

Windows Spotlight always shows me the same few pictures. I think that some time back, I clicked "Like the image that you see?" on some picture and it seems to have "learned" to only show me these pictures (which are all landscapes). Is there some way to reset its notion of what pictures I like?

I've tried various suggestions from the net, like disable and reenable spotlight, reset the "ContentDeliveryManager" AppX package, and edit the registry value "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Lock Screen\Creative\CreativeJson." The first two of these didn't have any effect; the registry thing wasn't possible because there is no such registry value on my system.

I'm actually a bit skeptical that doing anything locally CAN reset it, because all my computers show the same small set of pictures, including a new computer that I just got an set up today. I log into them using my Microsoft account, so I'm thinking something is stored in that, or possibly in OneDrive. (Although, some of the affected machines don't sync any of the "standard" folders like Documents to OneDrive.)

    I wish I could find someone who actually works on this feature and ask them questions. The fact that I see the same few images all the time on multiple devices seems to indicate that some settings are stored in the cloud, but I still haven't found any information about that anywhere.

    Hello BryanBe,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

    We understand your confusion and distress when you want to reset Windows Spotlight but can't find the path to the registry.

    To reset Windows Spotlight, here are some other reset methods you can try:

    1. Reset Windows Spotlight

    Open Settings - Personalization - Lock Screen - Select Pictures from the Personalize Lock Screen menu.

    Press Windows Key + R to open Run, paste the following path into the text field and click OK:

    %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\Settings

    Rename the aroaming.lock file to roaming.dat.back and the settings.dat file to settings.dat.back.

    Restart your computer to return to the lock screen settings.

    Select Windows Spotlight from the Personalize Lock Screen menu.

    1. If the above does not work for you, you can try running a batch file to reset Windows Spotlight settings on Windows, perhaps you can try this option will reset the cache of Spotlight,and redeploy the Spotlight program:
    • Tap Start---Settings---Privacy---Background apps---Allow apps to run in the background switch select On!
    • Open Notepad and copy the following command into it :
      :: Reset Windows Spotlight
DEL /F /S /Q /A "%USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets"
DEL /F /S /Q /A "%USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\Settings"
:: Re-register Windows Spotlight
PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage *ContentDeliveryManager*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"
    • Then choose save as fix.bat
    • Right click on fix.bat and run it as administrator.
    • After executing,.
    • Click Start---Settings---Personalization---Lock screen interface---Background: Windows Spotlight
    • Then wait for Focus to download the cache file and reboot to see if the problem disappears

    Hope this helps,please feel free to reply me if anything is unclear or if there are any further updates, thanks.

    Best Regards ,

    Hi 'BryanBe' and hello 'Morning'. I have two MS Surfaces, one a couple of years old and the other a couple of months old. Both are showing two images repeatedly on the Lockscreen for the last week of so. They happen to be the 'Flying Hummingbird' and Kinbane Castle'. These are, generally, the only images that appear on the Lockscreen, with those two images alternating daily. Other image files are downloaded into the Assets folder on most days, but the default image seems to be one of those two. I am a long-term user of Spotlight on the Lockscreen and have been a contributor to the MS Community about Lockscreen issues for many years. I find that running the ElevenForum 'Reset and Re-Register Windows Spotlight' BAT file solves most issues. I had recently run this on my older Surface, but still have the same repeating images. In my Assets folder on the newer device, the repeating images are the oldest downloads and I have contemplated changing my Lockscreen setting to 'Picture' on this device, removing these older files and then reverting to 'Spotlight' to see if it then shows the different mages, but the two repeating images seem to have very recently downloaded on the older device, so I don't think that deleting images will get me anywhere. I would be keen to here of others' experiences. The issue doesn't really affect my use of my devices, but it is distracting and rather irritating.

    And what's more, I just got a new computer - as soon as I set it up with my Microsoft account, it started showing the same few pictures as my other computers! So it really seems like there's some setting that's stored in the cloud.
